Questions we hear often.

Direct answers to help you understand how Ficha works.

Getting started

Is there a minimum to open an account?

No. You can open an account with any amount. We don't believe custody quality should depend on account size.

Which countries do you serve?

We serve clients globally, with some restrictions based on regulatory requirements. During account opening, we'll confirm eligibility based on your jurisdiction.

How long does account opening take?

Account opening typically takes about 15 minutes. In rare cases, additional review may be required.

What documents do I need?

Government-issued ID. Proof of address may be required in some jurisdictions. We'll guide you through the process.

Custody

Is my bitcoin held 1:1?

Yes. Every bitcoin you hold with us is fully reserved. We don't lend, leverage, or use client bitcoin for any purpose.

Do you offer yield or interest on bitcoin?

No. We believe yield products introduce risks that conflict with secure custody. Our focus is safekeeping, not returns.

How is my bitcoin stored?

Predominantly in cold storage, using multi-signature architecture with geographically distributed keys. See our Security page for details.

Can I verify my holdings?

You can view your balance anytime. As we grow, we're implementing reserve attestations that provide independent verification of aggregate holdings.

Transfers

How do I deposit bitcoin?

Send bitcoin to your unique deposit address. Once confirmed on-chain, it appears in your account. No deposit fees.

How long do withdrawals take?

Most withdrawals process within hours. Larger amounts or new withdrawal addresses may require additional verification for security.

Are there withdrawal limits?

No arbitrary limits on your own bitcoin. Security verification may apply to unusually large or first-time withdrawals to protect against unauthorized access.

Can I deposit or withdraw cash?

Yes, through stablecoins (USDT, USDC) or bank transfer where available. See Transfers for details on supported methods.

Fees

What does custody cost?

0.25% per year on your bitcoin holdings, billed monthly. There's a $15 monthly minimum after your first year. See Fees for complete details.

Are there hidden fees?

No. Custody, execution, and transfer fees are published and shown before you confirm any action. Network costs are passed through at cost.

Is the fee deducted in bitcoin or cash?

Custody fees are deducted in bitcoin from your account balance monthly.

Security

What if I lose access to my account?

Contact us through verified channels. We have recovery procedures that verify your identity while protecting against social engineering attempts.

What happens if Ficha goes out of business?

Your bitcoin remains yours. We hold client assets separately and have procedures for orderly wind-down that would return bitcoin to verified clients.

Is my bitcoin insured?

We maintain appropriate coverage for operational risks. The specifics depend on evolving market conditions. Our primary protection is security architecture that prevents loss in the first place.

Have a question not covered here? We're available through secure channels once you have an account.
